Sparkle and Sass

The Goldstein girls are back! Recently, I had a session with the adorable Ryleigh and Teagan for their family’s holiday card. My favorite part of the shoot--other than their sassy personalities--were the pink glitter polka dotted dresses.

The above photos may have been a result of bribing them with chocolate. They are wise beyond their years…they know how to negotiate just like their mama.

These photos didn’t make the holiday card, but I will share the winning photo once it arrives in my mailbox…it’s too cute!

Warning: Cuteness Overload

Recently, I spent the afternoon with Landon for his 3-month-old photo shoot. It’s been really fun watching this little man grow each month and capturing his cute little facial expressions. However, without fail, he starts every photo shoot with a good cry.

I had a lot of fun creating the set with props that his mom Jaclyn had. I also was able to use the natural light in the living room along with a light reflector. Our shoot was cut short because he was ready for a nap, so I’m looking forward to taking some more Christmas-themed photos next month.

Ugly Christmas Sweaters

In October, I volunteered for the Red Shoe Council’s inaugural Casino Royale fundraiser, and as luck would have it, this adorable family won a holiday portrait session with yours truly.

I loved that Stephanie had a vision for her Christmas cards. She had the whole family, including the dog Stanley, wear ugly Christmas sweaters. In the words of the great Ted Mosby:

These photos were taken at the University of Tampa near the Henry B. Plant Museum. Apparently, this is a popular location for Christmas card photo shoots because I counted at least six other photographers setting up their shoots. I'll post more photos later. The ones above didn't make the final cut, but I didn't want to spoil the surprise of Stephanie's Christmas card!

I’ll be back at UT for another family session next week. There’s still time to book your family portrait session so contact me today!

A Cute Little Pumpkin

For Landon’s two-month-old photo shoot, we embraced the fall theme. We took some football photos (Go Gators, Go Bulls). This was the messiest photo shoot to date because it involved a lot of hay. But the results are pretty cute, so it was totally worth it!

As a bonus, Landon’s grandparents, aunt and uncle tagged along for the fun so naturally I put them to work--they were excellent assistants.

I’m looking forward to Landon’s upcoming shoots during the holiday season…it’s the most wonderful time of the year!

Poker Faces

Whew… what a weekend! Saturday, Oct. 3 was a memorable day. And not just because of this:

Not only was I busy volunteering at the Red Shoe Council’s Casino Royale, but the Gators were giving Ole Miss a beat down. And I was missing every single glorious second. Thank you to my daddy for texting me throughout the game so I knew what was going on.

Moving on to why I’m writing this post…The Red Shoe Council did a fantastic job on its inaugural Casino Royale, which was held at the 1930 Grande Room in Ybor City. It was a fun night filled with great food, performances by the Aerial Dragons, a silent auction, and popular games like craps, blackjack, Texas Hold ‘Em and roulette. I donated my services to be the official photographer of the event, and I donated a holiday portrait package for the silent auction. I’m looking forward to meeting the winning family!

The event space looked great -- the lighting, the centerpieces, the tables and linens all were perfect. As a photographer, I learned this event space is quite challenging because the ceilings are painted black so all of the light is absorbed. I will need to bring a light diffuser the next time I photograph an event there.

Here are some of my favorite photos from the event. You can check out more photos on Blondeshell Studios’s Facebook page.
